We cordially invite you to attend the 6th World Congress on Alternatives & Animal Use in the Life Sciences. The 6th congress will be held in Tokyo, Japan from August 21st to 25th, 2007.
This is a critical year before the general prohibition of safety tests using animals in 2009 by the 7th amendment of the EU Cosmetics Directive. To have alternative methods accepted by 2009, we need to have created new methods and have concrete plans of validation until 2007.
The 6th World Congress will offer an outstanding scientific program, attracting scientists and other professionals from around the world to present their latest research in the field of the 3Rs. The scientific program will include state-of-the-art lectures, workshops, and satellite meetings in Kyoto and other Asian cities.
The past World Congresses in Baltimore, Utrecht, Bologna, New Orleans and Berlin have also provided excellent places for the discussion between scientists and people with animal welfare concern. This is critical to obtain support for science by the public. While in Tokyo, you can experience Japanese traditional and modern culture. It is convenient to go anywhere in Japan from Tokyo, like Kyoto and Osaka. Please plan on joining us with about 900 colleagues at the 6th World Congress on the 3Rs in Tokyo.
